What a website migration costs, in three numbers
A website migration moves your content, URLs and search visibility from one platform to another: WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace or Wix to Astro, Next.js or another CMS. The price depends far more on the size of the site than on the platform, so the calculator starts from pages worth keeping.
- Do it yourself with AI. Tools and your time. The rebuild usually works; the risk is what it drops. A pre-launch QA is the cheap insurance.
- A specialist agency. Published fixed prices from $3,000 for a small site to $50,000+ for 150+ pages (MigrateLab, 2026). The build is handled; SEO is often an add-on.
- Us. An SEO-led migration from $2,500, or folded into a retainer, where it takes the first month or two: $3,500/mo (3-month minimum) or $6,000/mo (4-month minimum).
What moves the price
- Pages worth keeping. Every one needs a mapped URL, carried-over metadata and a check on the new site.
- Languages. Each extra language is another set of URLs, hreflang tags and translations to verify.
- A store or catalog. Products, variants, stock, checkout and order history need a new home, and every product URL still has to resolve.
- Content consolidation. Merging thin posts and rewriting pages stuck on page two costs more up front and is where the traffic growth comes from.
The cost nobody quotes: lost traffic
